Call for Nominations to Serve on the SCB Europe Region Board

The SCB Europe Region is seeking enthusiastic and motivated people to serve on the SCB Europe Region Board of Governors for the next 3-year term beginning in January 2027.
If you would like to directly influence the Region’s policies and activities, contribute your ideas and support members then please consider nominating yourself or encourage someone else to apply. Remember to get your nominations in by 28 September, 2026!
There are 3 open seats on the Board; two regular Board Member positions and one President-Elect position. Board members are expected to be actively engaged in SCB Europe’s Board of Governors work by participating in regular online meetings and email discussions, attending in-person meetings every two years (where possible), and taking a leadership role in one of the standing committees. We are particularly looking for members willing to take an active role as chair of the Communication Committee and / or the Education Committee.
The President-Elect serves in this role for one year before taking over as President of the SCB Europe Region for a three-year term. During this year, the President-Elect will become familiar with the structure, activities, and governance of SCB Europe, work closely with the President and Board, and support the President as required.
SCB Europe aims to maintain a diverse and geographically balanced Board and foster support for European regions in need of increased capacity in conservation science and practice. Accordingly, we encourage applications from members from all regions in Europe and especially encourage members from under-represented groups to apply. Applications from all career stages are welcome.
Nominees must be a member of SCB Europe, reside in Europe and commit to serving a 3-year term starting in January 2027.
The Call for Nominations is open from now until 28 September, 2026.

5. A biographical sketch and motivation for serving on the SCB Europe Board (max 400 words).
